
This course is designed to provide students with the skills and hands on experience needed in construction. Students will learn to safely use power and hand tools, and production machinery. They will make working drawings, and learn how to layout, fabricate, install and repair wooden structures. Siding, roofing, window and door installation, estimating, blueprint reading, C.A.D.D. system exploration, basic cabinetry and furniture construction will also be introduced. Students practice these skills by building a variety of projects to meet local demands and needs. Students are encouraged to design personal projects within their skill range. Community service projects may be included to provide on the job training.
